When it comes to any tobacco product, including vapor products, consumers should always review the advice and guidance of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Surgeon General, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We defer to their expertise.
Because vapor products were recently developed, public health authorities have not reached a consensus regarding the long-term health effects of vapor product use.
In compliance with federal regulations issued by FDA, Juul Labs includes a warning label on packaging for pods disclosing that: “This product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical.” This packaging also includes a warning stating: “Contains nicotine, which can be poisonous. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not drink. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. In case of accidental contact, seek medical help.” Additionally, the package includes California’s Proposition 65 Warning, saying “This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.” Additionally, Juul Labs has a dedicated resource to comply with the product disclosure requirements set forth in NY Public Health Law, Article 17, and implementing regulations. You can access this resource here.
In addition to compliance with any additional government-mandated warnings, we will continue to monitor the science and the consensus among public health authorities and will adjust our health-related communications to consumers as appropriate.
